Please let me know if you’re looking for a writer for
your site. You have some really good articles and I believe I would be a good
asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d absolutely love to write some content for
your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please blast me an e-mail if interested.

On Christmas day, I got an iPad mini. I already have an iPod touch 4th gen. How are they different? (besides the fact that one is bigger) Also, are the apps the same? For the kindle app, is the screen bigger and easier to read than the iPod touch?

    • Lionel says:

Hello Dave, iPod touch is smaller, lighter, easier to hold and there are two speakers on the iPad mini – No, the apps are not the same, because the iPad mini was made to use iPad apps, not iPhone/iPod apps. BUT you stll can download iPod apps on the iPad mini, they just may be over-sized and a bit fuzzy, due to the fact that they need to be expanded to fit a larger screen. And yes, it should be easier to read because it’s a bigger screen to see things better. Hope this helps!

  3. Michalak says:

I’m a disabled librarian and now I’m a writer. I don’t travel much. I have a friend who carries her iPad to church because it is a lot lighter than a large type Bible. If this is all I’m going to use it for, is it worth it? As I said, I’m a writer and I have four books on my laptop. I also have a lot of pictures, letters and other documents. My wife got this for me for Christmas but I’m thinking it’s pretty expensive just to use as my Bible. (I have a bad back.) It looks like an interesting toy but I think it’s too expensive considering that would be my main reason for having it. Is it something I would use with my writing or should I take it back and get someone to carry my Bible for me? I’m afraid it’s going to be useless for me.

    • Lionel says:

Hi Michalak, there are MANY different apps for Bible Study and the Kindle app is worth it so you can buy eBooks! Just think…you can carry an entire library of study tools and books on your iPad wherever you want! Couple that with the internet and you’re all set! – I spoke to my youth pastor Josh Yates and his iPad has become just about irreplaceable for him! Good luck!

  4. Leeanne says:

Fabulous blog and info… I’m thinking of getting a Mini for xmas, do you think it can replace my Mac? Thanks la

    • Lionel says:

      Hi Leeanne, iPad is not a complete computer replacement. You will need a computer to update the OS, but those updates are not all that frequent;
Documents can be moved via iTunes, WiFi, e-mail, or online services like Dropbox or Google docs.

Pictures can be moved on to the device with the camera connection kit and can be moved off via iTunes, WiFi, e-mail, or online services such as Flickr, Shutterfly, Facebook or Photoshop – hope this helps!

  5. Ginny Sharp says:

Thanks for your very helpful and insightful blogging, what a great resource you are providing!! I have a question, does the new iPad case provide any protection for drops etc? I’m thinking about buying a protective case and then a wireless keyboard but I am hoping this will do both ??

    • Lionel says:

Thanks for visiting Ginny and I’m glad you find it helpful – Unfortunately the case only protects the screen not the back.

  6. Helen says:

Hope you can help, can I run ms office on my ipad?

Hi I’m back again to glean some more of your very helpful tips and advice, I was wondering if I should i sell my iPad 3 to get an iPad mini ? What do you think? Thanks for such a wonderful site!

    • Lionel says:

Hi Jerry, nice to see you back visiting once again and thanks for your kind comments – Don’t unless you want a smaller version of the Tablet because the iPad 3 with the size of its retina display makes so much difference to things like pictures and games, it also holds a better chip than the iPad mini, so its a question of a good size screen and display!
